More than 200 South African volunteers from across the country were involved in the 12-month project, mapping out the parts of South Africa that they call home. Many were SANParks, CapeNature and KZN Ezemvelo Wildlife rangers and guides. Others were avid hikers, nature-lovers and tech enthusiasts.
Kelly and Woods led the production team and worked closely with Dylan Bosman of Noble, to create this showpiece.
One & Only Le Saint Géran
We were excited to be offered this job by Ian Manley (Manley Communications), who we chatted to at a Travel Massive event not long after Kelly & Woods was founded. We flew to Mauritius for a press trip and had only 4 days to film, with a fairly open-ended creative brief. The video uses lots of wide establishing shots, thanks to the loan of an 11-16 2.8 Canon L-Series Lens from Orms. The lens was a real treat to work with and helped us to create a slow, intriguing style of movement, setting the mood for an atmospheric video. It was a big brand to work for just a few months after starting our business, but we loved the challenge and went in with a creative attitude and open mind.
Garden Route National Park
This video is part of a larger series which we filmed for 19 national parks in South Africa. It also formed part of the Google Trekker project. The Garden Route National Park is made up of 3 individual park areas, each with its own unique flavour. The idea of this video and the others in the series was to give local and foreign tourists a practical idea of what to expect when you visit, in terms of activities, accommodation, staff, conservation efforts and wildlife.
There were so many fun activities that went into the filming of this video: kayaking, bungee jumping, hiking, cycling, wildlife spotting - including birds and dolphins. It was also a real privilege to interview Paddy Gordon, Park Manager at the Garden Route National Park and formerly at the Table Mountain National Park. Paddy is a highly respected man in conservation and has an incredible presence which contributed immensely to this video.
Shot for Xplore Asia in Ho Chi Minh City, this video introduces the viewer to what it would be like to participate in the 4 week TESOL programme and to teach English in Vietnam. It focuses on the importance of engaging with the culture of the country you teach in. Having lived and taught in Ho Chi Minh City, Justin was the perfect person to shoot this video. What you see here is a short version formatted for social media and marketing.

Webber Wentzel Ignite is a legal incubation program that launched on 5 December 2017. Kelly and Woods were entrusted to create this video that holds a central position in informing and inspiring entrepreneurs of this amazing opportunity, offered by one of South Africa's leading law firms.
